Home in Frome Carnival Project

Home in Frome Carnival Project.

Over the next few weeks there will be a series of workshops and work parties to create a lantern procession for the Frome Carnival on September 25th.  It's open to anyone in Frome and particularly aimed at families so do come along, with or without children, and make a lantern or help to build the main float - a huge lantern with shadow puppets.

We are planning to use the large lantern as a shadow puppet screen and create some clever and humorous shadow puppetry which will be seen by the audience on both sides of the procession.
Saturday 4th September at 10am: Designing the float.

We are looking for adults with skills and interest in building the float. The structure will be made of wood and must be light enough to be carried by a number of people, but strong enough to hold together!  Can you help us?
Numbers are limited so please get in touch if you’d like to come along to either of these events which will take place at 26, High Street.
Work Parties....
At The Silk Mill on Saxonvale:
On Saturday 11th and Saturday 18th September
10.30am- 4.30pm.
Drop in any time to make a lantern or just if you are curious and would like to see what’s going on. We’d love to see you and talk about this and other community arts events in the future.
All events are free! If you can’t make the workshops but want to be involved in the procession on 25th September we will certainly be needing some extra hands so do get in touch.
