More on the Bennett Centre
Dear All
I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas, or whatever festive occasion you have celebrated.
I bring you tidings of good news.
Frome is about to become graced with a permanent home for its artists and craftspeople!!!!!!!!!
The St John's the Baptist Church hall is in the process of a complete and beautiful restoration into the Bennett Centre which comprises a spacious hall, a purpose-built gallery and public and catering facilities. The Vicar (Colin Alsbury) and Parochial Church Council plan to make part of this space available to the 'creatives' of Frome, so that there becomes a central point where your work can be regularly displayed (more about the plans on the day).
Please feel welcome to come to a meeting at the hall (in Vicarage Street) on Saturday 21st Jan, 2012 from 1100hrs. A presentation will be made by Peter Connew from St.John's PCC, who will introduce the concept of the site and we hope some of those craftsmen and volunteers involved in the reconstruction. There will then be a conducted tour of the works in progress and tea and coffee will be available (as well as the welcome heat of a real open fire).
If you are a local artist/ craftsperson and you would like to learn more about this project and the redevelopment of the adjacent car park, please come.
Best regards
Mel Sewell
