The National Gardening Show - dyeing with Woad demonstration

The National Gardening Show - Daily from 9:30am - 5:00pm

The Bath & West Showground has played host to gardening shows for fourteen years and this year they are pleased to present the National Gardening Show..... the Finest in Autumn Gardening. The popular Scarecrow Competition will be down in the woodland area alongside other attractions ranging from advice on allotments to running a smallholding with animals and poultry on show. Daily from 9:30am - 5:00pm

I have been invited to demonstrate the magic of the woad vat. See  wool and silk turn from yellow to green to blue as the oxygen reacts with the indigo. I will be also be selling a few decorative items dyed with woad which is the European Indigo plant, Isatis Tinctoria and blue pigment and seeds.
